We made our reservations
On the corner of the street.
Where there's an intersection,
Two souls should seldom meet.
But we did, did we not?
Between the glassy sunsets,
The shining cloudy days.
Between the past and future,
The moon that always stays,
Where we followed signs.
Not for us, walking.
Shadows we didn't see,
Locking eyes for a second,
Afraid of what should be.
And the world sighed in relief,
Kept walking, rustling all the ways
The sun tried to shine.
For a moment, though,
Our shadows lay unbroken
And your destination was mine.
So much to say, yet at a loss for words.
